Retina on eyes is very sensitive to light and connects with brain. It is one part of neutral nervous system. Therefore, any change of retina can reflect health situation of other parts of body.
Rosen said, new ophthalmic examination devices can magnify the overall image of eyes onto screen of computer just within three minutes. Besides short examination time and convenience, the person under examination is not required to magnify pupil, which means they will not get into the trouble of burred vision or being afraid of light arising from magnification of pupil.
In the examination, the person under examination only needs to look at a green CD in the device, laser will check his eyes, and the mirror in the device can show the whole image of retina. A doctor can carefully observe the “suspected” part through modification to brightness, contrast of image on screen of computer.
" Rosen explained that people" eyes could be considered as a evidence of health of body for blood vessels at eyes are reduction of whole circulation system of body, so eyes had its response before people felt any symptom. He said: ”for example, if the blood vessels at eyes become narrow, likelihood of blood vessels at other parts of body becoming narrow may be great.”
Rosen expressed that many fital diseases could show in eyes, for example, leukaemia initially reflected in eyes bleeding. Diabetes patients might cause blind if failure of treatment. In addition, optic nerve swelling or bleeding retina may be sign of brain tumor, and optic nerve swelling may predicate sclerosis of several organs. High blood pressure may also cause bleeding on retina.
Rosen found one of his female patients suffering mammary gland after making eye check for her. There was swelling area at the back of her eyes in the check, which indicated that she might suffer secondary cancer tumor. At that time, this patient had no symptom of mammary gland, and the diagnosis was confirmed after overall body examination upon Rosen’s suggestion.
